Heat Advisory

Dear Malden Families,

We are eager to welcome back our students on Wednesday, August 29th for the first day of school.  The weather forecasts indicate there will be a very high heat index for Tuesday through Thursday of this week.   As a result, we are taking some measures to ensure the comfort and well-being of all of our students.  All our schools are air-conditioned.  The students will be given frequent water breaks and nurses and staff will watch for any signs of heat fatigue or dehydration.  Outdoor activities, such as recess, will also be limited to ensure the safety of our students.  Our athletic department will have additional water and rests for our athletes.  We will vigilantly monitor our student-athletes for signs of dehydration and heat related symptoms. Safety is our first priority.   We wish everyone a great start to the school year!
