Malden Students Win Art Competitions
At the Malden School Committee meeting on Monday, May 5, two Malden students were presented with Citations recognizing their achievements in art. Claire Johnston, a fifth-grader at the Forestdale School, and Hazel Queen, a freshman at Malden High School, both recently won awards for their art.
Claire Johnston’s submission for the 2025 Massachusetts Arbor Day Poster Contest followed the theme of “Trees Around the World.” Her poster won 1st place overall and 1st place for 5th grade students!
As part of the Congressional Art Competitions, Hazel Queen submitted her acrylic work “The Future is in Her Hand.” Her work won 1st place in the 5th Congressional District!
