Meet the Principal August 21st

Please join Principal Chris Mastrangelo on Wednesday, August 21 at 6:00 for a “Meet the Principal Night.” All are welcome to this informal meet and greet but grade 9 caregivers are especially encouraged to come. He will be there to discuss the day to day procedures of the school and answer any questions you may have.

Welcome Back to School!

Welcome back, families of Malden Public Schools! As we embark on a new school year, we’re excited to see familiar faces and welcome new ones to our community. Together, we’ll create a supportive and enriching environment where every student can thrive. Let’s make this year a memorable and successful one!

First day of school:

August 28th for grades 1-12

September 6th for grades Pre-K & Kindergarten

Note: Kindergarten orientation/ screening takes place August 29th- September 5th

The Welcome Center for Malden Public Schools is located at 110 Pleasant Street, Malden, MA. All visitors are advised to make an appointment before coming into the building.

When Does School Start?

We know that arriving to school on time is important. Please see school start times below!

Malden High School

Monday-Friday

Grades 9-12: 7:45 A.M. – 2:15 P.M.

Beebe, Ferryway, Forestdale, Linden and Salemwood

Monday-Friday

Grades K-6: 8:15 A.M. – 2:15 P.M.

Grades 7 & 8: 7:45 A.M. – 2:20 P.M.

Early Learning Center (ELC)

Monday-Friday

Morning Half-Day Program 8:00 AM – 11:00 A.M.

Afternoon Half-Day Program 11:30 AM – 2:00 P.M.

Full-Day Program 8:00 AM –2:00 P.M.

Important Dates

Mark your calendar with these important dates!

August 21st: 2:30-4:30pm – City of Malden sponsored free backpack drive at the Linden School Park on Wescott Street! Each family is able to receive 2 backpacks full of school supplies to start the year. You must register in advance atwww.maldenrec.com

August 28th: First day of school for grades 1-12

August 29th- September 5th: Kindergarten Screening. Contact your school for more info.

September 6th: First day of school for Pre-K and Kindergarten

October 10th: Quarter 1 progress reports distributed

November 15th: Quarter 1 report cards distributed

Check Family Portal Access
For grades 5-12 the Aspen family portal is how Malden provides family access to student performance information, report cards, and progress reports. Be sure you can access your account by following directions here. If you cannot access your account, be sure to contact your student’s principal.
Breakfast & Lunch
Malden provides all student with a free breakfast and lunch each day–no sign-ups needed. You can find school dining menus here. Please note, calendars are updated each month.

Summer reading is a vital component of our educational curriculum, designed to engage students in enriching literary experiences that enhance their skills, broaden their perspectives, and ignite their imaginations. Check here for summer reading lists!
