Welcome! As the Forestdale School PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) we want to talk with you about our organization and more importantly encourage you to get involved in your school. But first, let’s explain what the Forestdale PTO is all about.
What is the PTO.
Our key mission is to promote an environment where teachers and administrators can do their best work and our students can do their best learning. We support school staff, help promote student self-esteem, and assist in efforts to solve school need through volunteering and funding. We provide information and resources through our Facebook page Forestdale School PTO, newsletters, parent meetings and other communication channels.
PTO Programs and Fundraising
We hold several fundraisers throughout the year. Box Tops for Education is one of our easiest. All you have to do is send in Box Tops from products that you already purchase, and your child will earn a prize. Our fundraising efforts provide our school with the funds, programs, resources and services that enrich and maximize the education of every child. Here are a few examples:
- Transportation for field trips
- Special Assemblies
- Family Fun Nights
- In class enrichment programs
- Teacher appreciation Luncheon
- Field Day
- Read Across America
Become a Volunteer…Why YOU should get involved!
Research shows that students whose parents are in involved in their education have better grades and fewer discipline problems. Involvement at the school also makes it easier to establish friendships with teachers and other parents. We promise that the time you give our group and the school will be worth your while—-and fun. We have positions and tasks to fit all schedules and interests. We don’t expect a huge time commitment from volunteers – even an hour can be a big help to our group and the school.
All volunteers need to be CORIed. . Just bring your State issued photo ID to the main office. We recommend start this process as soon as possible so you are ready to help/be involved.
