Registration starts Monday April 1st, 2019
*Students must be at least 3 years of age and toilet trained to attend ELC
*Applications can be completed in person between 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Applications for Preschool must be filled out in person at the Early Learning Center. Children cannot register unless all documents are presented at time of registration.
In order to complete your application, please be sure to bring the following documentation with you:
- A copy student’s birth certificate
- A copy of the student’s most recent physical exam with immunizations
- Proof of Residency (gas, electric, etc.).
- A check or money order for the $100.00 non-refundable registration fee. Checks or money orders should be made payable to Malden Public Schools. No cash will be accepted.

School Day Information
Half-Day Sessions-Children attending half-day sessions have daily snack time during both morning and afternoon sessions. Please send in a drink and a small lunch or snack for your child. Milk can be purchased each day.
Full-Day Sessions- Children who attend the full-day classes, will have a snack time. Please send in a healthy snack and drink. Also students will have a designated lunch period and will eat in the children’s lunchroom. Lunches/drinks can be brought from home or purchased in school for $2.55 for the 2017-2018 school year. Monthly menus will be sent home so that you will be aware of what hot and cold meals are available for a particular day.
Before School Program 7-8:30 A.M. Mon- Fri $6/day : Breakfast can be brought from home to be eaten during the Before School Program; breakfast can also be purchased from the school cafeteria for $1.00. The Breakfast Program runs from 7-8am and is only available for children attending the Before School Program.
After School Program: 2-6 P.M.. Mon- Fri $17/day

The ELC Main Office is open Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. – 2:45 P.M.
Tours of the ELC are available; please call to schedule an appointment.
The ELC follows the Malden Public Schools’ K-8 school calendar, including Early Release days, school vacations, holidays, Teacher Professional Development days, and snow days.
Income eligible children are entitled to a free. or reduced milk and/or lunch. Forms will be sent home for you to complete. Regardless of eligibility, all families need to fill out the form and return as soon as possible.
We will be talking to the children throughout the year about healthy and nutritious foods. We ask that you reinforce good eating practice by sending your child into school with a healthy snack and/or lunch.
Please send your child to school with a change of clothes to keep at school. If your child attends the full-day session please send your child in with a small blanket and pillow for rest time
