First Grade Students of the Week!

Meet September students of the week in first grade. These students were chosen by their teachers Mrs. Malone and Ms. Herrera because they have demonstrated the ability to work hard, be kind to others, make good choices, and follow the classroom & school rules.

Great job!

Be on the lookout for the Kindness Police!

Mrs. Berenson’s first grade class created a Kindness Rock Garden this year. In this garden you will find various rocks with kind words painted on them by the first grade students. When a student is feeling down, Sarah will find the appropriate rock for that student. Sarah takes her position seriously and is always on the lookout for someone in need of a kind word. Way to go Sarah!

PTO Event: Night of Imagination

On Friday, October 12, from 6-8 p.m. the PTO will hold a K-4 event which is called, Night Of Imagination. Students and families can attend, enter costume contests, enjoy the photo booth, free face painting, and a purchased ticket will get a slice of pizza, a drink, a glow bracelet, and a chance at the door prize.

Student Report: Class of 2023

Grade 8

By: Jodi (Student Reporter)

With the fall foliage arriving, students are putting away their summer wear and pulling out textbooks and binders.  Teachers and students transition back into the school with positive attitudes, excited for a fresh start.

This coming year, the class of ‘23 will be graduating in June 2019 moving onto their high school careers.  Being their last year at Beebe, students consider their high school preferences and choices. Though most kids are leaning towards Malden High School (MHS), some are deciding to spend the next 4 years or their lives at a vocational institute.  A good number of the student population are ecstatic about graduating and moving on in life. Students like Julia and Schneider are ready for a new start at high school and growing up.

Excited though, unsure about their 8th-grade year, the teens look forward to the end of the year activities, such as field trips to Canobie Lake Park and Tufts University, graduating, and a new school year.  When asked of her opinion on 8th grade, Skyla had replied saying, “The year is going well so far, and the workload is better than last year’s.” Like Skyla, Jessica stated, “8th grade feels easier than last year because I feel more in control of my schedule.”

Since it’s only the beginning, most of the students don’t know what to expect of the new year.  “I don’t know how I feel so far because things could change along the way.”, said Natalie. Having said this, most of the students are optimistic about their final year in middle school despite unknown challenges.

Since 8th grade  is a crucial year, it is important that students make a positive impact on Beebe and its community.  This includes, making good decisions, creating a friendly environment, and living their middle school life to the fullest.

My First Day of School
By: Nainy
First, I woke up early to get ready to go to
school. I felt excited to meet my new teacher
and my new class. My new class was cool! I
Love my teacher because she is really nice. My first day of
school was awesome. I can’t wait to go back to school
tomorrow!!! When school was over, I went home and told my
mom, dad, and brother all the fun I had. I told my whole family
how much fun I had at school. My family was proud of me. My
parents asked me if I made any friends, I said yes. I told my dad I
made four friends. My parents also asked what I learned today
and I told them I learned a lot and it was also fun.

What is happening in Grade 7 By: Jordyn
In Grade 7 this year, we are learning lots of new things. In math, we just finished learning adding and
subtracting of integers and are currently learning multiplication and division of integers. In ELA, we
are learning text features and what they are used for and how important they are. In science, we are
learning about how to write a proper claim and hypothesis. In social studies, we are learning about
prehistory and the five groups of hominids. In Grade 7, we have to be in school at 7:45 a.m. and
have two exploratory classes. A lot is happening in Grade 7 at one time and we are up for the
challenge!

MHS senior creates anti-bullying video

My name is Josh Cronin and I am a senior at Malden High. For my senior internship project I created an anti-bullying PSA video which is 12 minutes long. I worked with Adrianne Nazzaro, the adjustment counselor at the Ferryway School, to create this PSA. It stars Ferryway students and features Rebecca Gordon and Adrianne Nazzaro talking about bullying.

Thank you,

Josh Cronin
