Be the “i” in Kind!
By: Ms. McCarthy
This year in grade 7, students and teachers are working towards making our team a great place to be. Seventh grade students have been dedicated to earning Beebe bucks for helping each other in the hallway, being responsible students, and even asking questions in class because questions benefit all students’ learning.

November 13 was world kindness day. Every grade paused for kindness from 10:00 to 10:40. Here are some acts of kindness that happened in each of the grades at the Beebe School.
This Year’s Beebe Buck System
By: Elina, Jarita, and Elise
We are starting off this year with a student support system called PBIS. PBIS is a positive behavior support system. If you you are a kind, accepting, and responsible student as well as helping a teacher or a student you will receive a beebe buck.
The Beebe School and TerraCycle are joining forces again to recycle the Entenmann’s Little Bites snack bags. We are hoping all grade levels will participate in the recycling program this year. The blue recycling container will be located in the office area next to the conference room. Classrooms can continue to deposit them at the end of every week or each day. In order to send them to Terracycle, we will need to collect approximately 900 pouches. For every pouch we collect and return to Terracycle, the school will earn 2 points. The points are accumulated throughout the year and have the potential to earn funding for our school and keep the trash out of the landfills. Once again we will have a friendly competition among classrooms. The classroom that collects the most pouches will be able to earn extra recess or some other incentive… more details to follow. If you would like to participate, please begin to add your totals onto the Google document that will be shared with everyone shortly. We will tally the totals weekly and keep you posted on the progress. The more we collect, the more points we will earn! Last year we collected 2, 625 Little Bite pouches with a grade total of 5,350 points. Thank you for making this such a great success!!!
We will begin to officially collect the pouches on October 15th, 2019.
According to the Terracycle website, we can use our points towards the following:
TerraCycle points can be redeemed for a variety of charitable gifts, product bundles, or a payment of $0.01 per point to the non-profit organization or school of your choice.
As always, please contact either Ms. Blough or Mrs. Kotowski with any questions.
Thank you for your support!!!
