Recycling Program and Little Bites

The Beebe School and TerraCycle are joining forces again to recycle the Entenmann’s Little Bites snack bags.  We are hoping all grade levels will participate in the recycling program this year.  The blue recycling container will be located in the office area next to the conference room.  Classrooms can continue to deposit them at the end of every week or each day.  In order to send them to Terracycle, we will need to collect approximately 900 pouches.  For every pouch we collect and return to Terracycle, the school will earn 2 points.  The points are accumulated throughout the year and have the potential to earn funding for our school and keep the trash out of the landfills. Once again we will have a friendly competition among classrooms.  The classroom that collects the most pouches will be able to earn extra recess or some other incentive… more details to follow.  If you would like to participate, please begin to add your totals onto the Google document that will be shared with everyone shortly.  We will tally the totals weekly and keep you posted on the progress. The more we collect, the more points we will earn!  Last year we collected 2, 625 Little Bite pouches with a grade total of 5,350 points. Thank you for making this such a great success!!!
We will begin to officially collect the pouches on October 15th, 2019.
According to the Terracycle website, we can use our points towards the following:
TerraCycle points can be redeemed for a variety of charitable gifts, product bundles, or a payment of $0.01 per point to the non-profit organization or school of your choice.
As always, please contact either Ms. Blough or Mrs. Kotowski with any questions.

Thank you for your support!!!

Thank you, Beebe School

Dear teachers, staff and students,

Malden Kiwanis thanks you for your incredible job of collecting over 5000 books for our Bubbles and Books project.  We gave out most of them.

Today Ms. Spayne and Mrs Hurley’s class who collected 1605 books, Ms. Geer’s class who collected 1478 books, and Ms. Malone and Mrs. Hollinhead’s class who collected 1108 books are having a pizza party on us to thank them for their efforts.  We couldn’t award just one prize with 3 classes collecting over 1000 books each.

We wish to thank all the teachers and students as well.  Thanks to you we had over 6000 books to distribute free to the children of Malden.  There are pictures above of the event so you can see how you helped us and the community.
