Safety Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures
Malden Public Schools takes great pride in our safety procedures for all students and staff. We are asking you to help us to ensure that our school continues to be a safe and happy community. To that end, please pay special attention to the charts below.
Drop off Times

**All visitors including parents/caretakers must check into the office before reporting anywhere else in the building excluding the arrival and dismissal times.**
Frequently Asked Questions
What if my child goes to the Before School Program?
Please ring the bell, an ELC staff member will use the intercom to ask, “How can I help you?” Please respond by saying that you are going to the before school program and you will be buzzed in. You do not need to check-into the office
Where do we wait for the school day to begin?
Parents or caretakers who arrive before entrance into the building is allowed will wait in the main lobby on Mountain Ave or in the elevator corridors. If your child is in a classroom on the second floor, you can take the elevator up to the second floor and wait there. If possible, it is suggested that you wait with your child in the car in order to be most comfortable until the school day begins.
Can we play on the play ground?
Your child can play on the small structure in the morning while waiting for their school day to begin. For safety purposes, children cannot play on the playground before or after half day sessions or at the end of the day. The playground is intended for full day classes that are still in session at that time or the after school program.
What do I do if I’m late to school?
If you are late, you will bring your child to the office. You will sign your child in and an ELC staff member will escort your child to his or her classroom. If you report directly to the classroom, the teacher will ask that you bring your child to the office in order to follow the safety protocol.
What do I do if I’m picking up early?
Please ring the bell and you will report to the office to sign your child out. You will wait in the office and an ELC staff member will bring your child to you.
